It is the hottest day of the year in the neighborhood of Brooklyn Bedford-Stuyvesant. Tensions are increasing between people and there is a spike in the angry behavior of people with each other everyone is fighting with each other, The Pizzeria Owner Danny Aiello with his sweeper Ossie Davis, Ossie with mother sister Ruby Dee, Pizzeria Delivery Boy Spike Lee (Mookie) with other Pizza boys in the shop. There seems to be a negative effect of weather on the attitudes of people in the city. A theme in the movie is such that it seems to be period right after the Black Revolution in the history of US under Martin Luther King. So, most of the tensions are in between black and white people. In one of the scene there are some of the white cops saying black people “What a waste” and black people talking before them that they deserve this because most of the white Koreans are progressing more while they are staying in the streets doing nothing. Black people are getting jealous from the grocery shop sale of Korean people and thinking of starting their own business. Another theme in the movie is that Danny Aiello’s son is bored of his father’s Pizzeria business. He want to quit his business but Danny (Pal) tells him that it is the only thing he know how to do and people here know him and they like his pizzas. His son tells him to shift to some other area but Danny tells him that there are plenty of other pizza shops in other areas. They might be taking the impact of Black people thinking that they do not have their own business in the community and that’s why they are not progressing.

As the sun goes down there is change in human behaviors, sister Ruby. Davis saved a black child from a fast car while he was heading towards getting an ice-cream. Mother Sister also thanked David for his kind gift in her own way. Mookie’s girlfriend calls Sal’s Pizzeria to deliver pizza to her home so that she can meet Mookie. In the end when Danny was closing his shop, he had to reopen it to make pizza for some young people. A boys with Radio comes to his shop with his friend and they tell him that there should be pictures of black people of the Wall of Hall of Fame. His Radio was turned on at that time and Danny asks him to turn it off but he did not do so, so Danny breaks down his radio ad then there was a fight between that black guy and Danny. Police takes the black guy with them. Mookie breaks down the glass of the shop with a drum. All people break into the shop and burn down everything in the shop. The last theme in the movie is that when the mob heads towards the Korean Grocery Shop to burn it down. The Korean owner tells them that he is one of them and moreover he is a Black guys. They laugh on him, look towards each other and leave him. That how Korean guys save himself and his business from destruction. The movie is the perfect blend of love and hatred, first there is tension between people, particularly blacks and whites because of severe weather condition and then there is love in the end of the evening but while it was the end of the day the anger between the people emerges to its full extent and leaves the society’s one part to destruction but some of the people save them intelligently. There were two statement in the end of the movie which are too much relevant to the theme of the movie. First is from Martin Luther King who says that an eye for and eye turn everyone blind.

Which is shown in that movie when Danny break the black guy’s radio, his community’s action leads to the destruction of his business and all of his property. Violence can never lead a society to a better place. It can lead society to monologue instead of dialogue. Another quote is from Malcolm X who says that when violence is against self defence it is intelligence not violence. Same was done Korean who used violence to safe himself. HE told black guys that he is one of them so he can become the part of the community and can do business as far as he can. They understood himself and let him go. That’s how societies’ thrive. If people do not understand each other, they end up killing each other property and physical premises. Do the right thing movie so subjective that a person can take it to any where he wants. It is not filled with love only but you can never say that it is filled with hatred. IT is a perfect blend of love and hatred. Situation has impact on people but some of the wiser ones knew that how they have to modify and change the situation for the benefit of each other. IT is not only about violence but it is also about how people act when they are in power and when they are not in power and how they act individually and how they act in groups. Mookie’s character play a very important role in the movie. He remains the centre of attention in the movie and always plays his part. In the end when he came to know that he cannot get anything, he gets back to the owner of the pizza shop and asks for his salary. He insults himself by throwing money on him but in the end he reciprocates the situation very well and puts the burden of proof on him by justifying that Danny owes him 50 bucks instead of his is under his debt.

The movie was hard to predict and hard to anticipate because in 70% of the time the, the scene were so simple and everything was going in a routine manner and then suddenly it takes and turn and turns into violence which changes the end of the movie and the whole story changes with that scene of Fame. His Radio was turned on at that time and Danny asks him to turn it off but he did not do so, so Danny breaks down his radio ad then there was a fight between that black guy and Danny.
